After 293 Days Collecting Dust, RSC Members Demand Senate Pass the SAVE Act

January 28, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C.  First reported in an exclusive with The Blaze, nearly 30 members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) are calling on the Senate to immediately vote on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

The House of Representatives passed this critical election integrity legislation in April 2025, but it has stalled in the Senate for 293 days. Led by Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21), the SAVE Act would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections and provide states with the tools necessary to remove ineligible voters from their rolls.

The right to vote in American elections belongs to American citizens alone. Following the clear mandate voters delivered in the 2024 election, it is imperative that the Senate act without further delay to pass the SAVE Act and send it to President Trump's desk for signature.

Joining Chairman August Pfluger and Rep. Chip Roy in this effort are RSC Vice Chair Ben Cline (VA-06) and Reps. Mark Alford (MO-04), Riley Moore (WV-02), Kat Cammack (FL-03), Andy Harris (MD-01), Andy Ogles (TN-05), Claudia Tenney (NY-24), Burgess Owens (UT-04), Abe Hamadeh (AZ-08), Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13), Brandon Gill (TX-26), John McGuire (VA-05), Robert Aderholt (AL-04), Mike Collins (GA-10), Eric Burlison (MO-07), Ralph Norman (SC-05), Marlin Stutzman (IN-03), Dan Meuser (PA-09), Mike Ezell (MS-04), Russell Fry (SC-07), Mark Harris (NC-08), Laurel Lee (FL-15), Buddy Carter (GA-01), Mike Haridopolos (FL-08), Mike Kennedy (UT-03), and Lance Gooden (TX-05).
