Beautiful Bill, Beautiful Future: RSC Gets the Download from Director Hassett

May 21, 2025

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Study Committee (RSC) hosted White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett today on Capitol Hill to have a comprehensive discussion on the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Hassett laid out the stakes: passing the One Big Beautiful Bill will boost the economy by 4.2-5.2%, support 7.4 million jobs, and put an extra $7,800-$13,300 in the average family's pocket annually. Failure would trigger a 4% economic contraction, eliminate 6.1 million jobs, and could leave up to 9.2 million Americans without health insurance.

"We MUST get this One Big Beautiful Bill over the finish line," said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11). "The economic data Director Hassett presented today confirms that this legislation is absolutely critical for American prosperity and national security. The American people are counting on us to deliver this once-in-a-generation bill without delay."

The message from today's meeting was clear: Congress must act swiftly and get this once-in-a-generation bill over the finish line.
