Chairman Pfluger Calls for Swift Congressional Action on President Trump's Spending Cuts
May 29, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11) backed President Trump's call for Congress to codify DOGE cuts through a rescissions package:
“President Trump's rescission package represents the serious spending reform voters expect. Cutting the Biden Administration's rampant waste, fraud, and abuse is our duty to the American people who gave Republicans a clear mandate in November to take an axe to excess bureaucratic spending. This brings fairness and accountability back to taxpayers who are sick of funding government waste while making progress towards our crushing $36 trillion national debt. Congress must promptly cement these cuts in law through rescissions and the FY26 appropriations bills."
