Chairman Pfluger Joins the Will Cain Show to Discuss Breaking News from Qatar and the Latest in Iran

June 23, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11) joined the Will Cain Show to discuss the Iranian missile attack in Qatar against the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East and assess the airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities during Operation Midnight Hammer. Drawing on his military background as an Air Force fighter pilot with decades of experience, Pfluger provided analysis of the intercepted missile attack and reiterated the importance of investing in air defense technology and Airpower.

Highlights of the conversation can be found below and the full interview can be found HERE.

Chairman Pfluger on the Possibility of Iranian Retaliation: "You have thousands of American Airmen, soldier, sailors, and Marines stationed there. We want them to be safe. Thank goodness President Trump is the Commander-in-Chief and thank goodness Pete Hegseth is our Secretary of Defense because we know they're doing everything possible to keep our troops safe....I have complete confidence in our personnel there that they will continue not only intercepting missiles, but to also deter and make sure that Iran knows that any escalation is unacceptable."

Chairman Pfluger on Continuing to Invest in American Airpower and Military Technology: "The Iranian regime is very weak right now. The strikes against the nuclear facilities that President Trump made the heroic call to happen have been effective. This is where it comes down to American Airpower...the technology, to surface threats that we are facing that are being shot down...That we have American technology to intercept those missiles and defend our assets. We need to continue to invest in our assets, we need to continue to invest in our Airpower, we need to continue to invest in our deterrence."

Chairman Pfluger on President Trump Increasing America Deterrence: "President Trump has raised our level of deterrence seriously...he has done the right thing. The world is a safer place today and will be a safer place tomorrow because of the decisions that he is making."
