Chairman Pfluger on the Scott Jennings Show: "Time is Running Out This Congress"
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chairman August Pfluger appeared on the Scott Jennings Show live during the Republican Study Committee’s (RSC) New Media Row on Capitol Hill this week.
During the interview, Chairman Pfluger highlighted the urgency to pass a robust reconciliation bill to bring down costs for Americans, pointing to the RSC’s Reconciliation 2.0 framework released earlier this year. He stressed that citizens across the country are still impacted by four years of failed policies by the Biden administration, and Republicans in Washington must act before it’s too late.

On RSC Reconciliation 2.0 Framework: “It's sad we're here, especially on DHS funding that we have a group of people led by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, that refuse to fund the national security apparatus, the folks that keep us safe, keep our borders safe. So the reality is, we are here. But you know, I'll go back to our original framework, which you and I have talked about on this show, which is making America affordable again. And it's about housing, it's about energy, it's about healthcare, transparency and competition, bringing down the cost of everything. Of course, my preference is that we do those things in addition to the reality of doing what Democrats refuse to do, which is fund our national security apparatus.”
On Building Momentum Behind Reconciliation 2.0 and 3.0: “Time is running out, and our constituents are telling us, and I hear them loud and clear. I mean, the economy, I think, has all the foundations for being good, but they're telling us life is not affordable right now. We need you to continue to fight for us. Build on the One Big Beautiful Bill, build on what President Trump has done. This is our opportunity, and the calendar really puts us in a bind to get a third one done.”
On the Current State of the Democrat Party: “They [Democrats] hate Trump more than they love America right now. We swore a member in this week from New Jersey, and she had probably one hundred people in the gallery. This is on the House Floor, swearing in a new member of Congress in a special election to replace Mikie Sherrill. And they were chanting, not USA, but DSA, and as loud as they can. You know what that stands for? Democratic Socialists of America, not USA, but that's their chant. That's what they are for is to see the destruction of the freeness and the liberty this country has had for so long.”
