The Democrat Manifesto: How Their Radical Agenda Would Cost Americans Trillions
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two years ago, the American people gave Republicans a decisive mandate to secure the border, grow the economy, and put more money back in the pockets of hardworking Americans. Less than two years later, Republicans have delivered. The Working Families Tax Cuts Act codified the largest tax cut in history, the Secure America Act provided critical funding for homeland security, and the Trump administration has successfully uncovered over $260 billion in fraud and attracted over $11 trillion in new investments to bring manufacturing and jobs back home.
That progress is under threat as Democrats seek to drag us back to the failed policies of the past while embracing increasingly out-of-touch, radical proposals. The White House Council of Economic Advisors (CEA) exposed that the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA) policies would add about $49 trillion to federal deficits over the next ten years, costing roughly $355,000 for every American household.
Democrats are insisting they have nothing to do with the DSA, but their voting record tells a different story, with 192 House Democrats refusing to condemn the DSA’s ideology. While the party promises “free” benefits and services, their Medicare for All agenda would force American taxpayers to bankroll free healthcare for illegal aliens and gender experimentation procedures on the country’s most vulnerable youth to the tune of $47.4 trillion. Their open borders platform would impose an additional $527 billion burden on law-abiding Americans. Policies like their Green New Scam would undermine American energy independence, while also costing Americans $2.2 million in additional taxes.
Here’s what RSC Members have said about what’s at stake as Democrats try to regain power:
“There is a growing effort on the Left to put more justices on the Supreme Court when its decisions don’t produce the outcome they desire. These efforts to pack the Supreme Court with activist liberals would delegitimize and destroy one of the most important institutions in America…The stakes become even clearer when we look at the ideological movement pushing sweeping changes to our way of life as we know it. Socialism, once viewed as a fringe ideology in American politics, has increasingly entered the mainstream of the modern Democratic Party,” said Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY-23) in the Washington Examiner.
“Americans suffered under the Democrats’ open border policies, and they responded by giving Republicans a mandate to secure our borders, deter criminal illegal aliens and provide greater long-term security for America’s next generation. The progress we have made cannot be taken for granted…The caravan moving toward our border is a reminder that brazen attempts to illegally enter our country have not disappeared. However, thanks to President Trump and Congressional Republicans, they will find a safe and secure border that is closed to those trying to enter illegally,” said Rep. Michael Guest (MS-03) in Newsweek.
“The Democratic Socialists of America organization’s policies will close rural hospitals and force Americans to bankroll gender experimentation surgeries on children. Their proposal to nationalize healthcare under the so-called “Medicare for All” proposal is just the beginning of a dangerous path down a dystopian future under their socialist agenda,” said RSC’s Article One Task Force Chair Harriet Hageman (WY-AL) in The Hill.
“The DSA’s amnesty and open-border policies would reverse $227 to $287 billion in projected fiscal gains from President Trump’s immigration enforcement actions. Ending deportations and detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and eliminating funding to increase enforcement would cost Americans between $79 and $139 billion over ten years...If Democrats have their way, our borders will be flooded, our communities overwhelmed, and the American people will be left footing the bill for their cheap-labor replacements and the housing crisis to come. We saw the insanity of the leftists' open-border policies once before and are still paying for it. We can’t make the same mistake, or lives will be lost and our nation will be left bankrupt,” said Rep. Sheri Biggs (SC-03) in the Washington Times.
“The progress made under Republicans to improve military life is at risk if Democrats regain power in November. Far from being outside the Overton Window and on the fringes of American politics, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has increasingly infiltrated the modern Democrat party and their agenda offers a preview of where Democrats would like to take our country if they regain power…Their push to defund the Department of War (DoW) would devastate servicemembers and families whose livelihoods depend on a strong, functioning military,” said Rep. Troy Downing (MT-02) in Newsweek.
“The Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies did not just create chaos at the southern border; they fueled an invasion that reached every American. It made our neighborhoods less safe, pushed public resources to a breaking point, and drove up the cost of living for hardworking Americans…House Republicans are working alongside Trump to codify his border security agenda…Americans deserve to know which elected officials put American families first,” said Rep. Brad Knott (NC-13) in the Washington Examiner.
“The radical Left repeatedly tried to weaken Dalilah’s Law. They pushed to allow CDL tests to be given in languages other than English instead of requiring every commercial driver to meet the same basic safety standard. Democrats actively fought against this basic safety requirement. They can call it unfair, too tough, or claim it targets immigrants. I challenge and ask my Democratic colleagues why is it fair to ask law-abiding Americans to accept preventable risks? Why should grieving families be told that their loss was simply the price of political correctness?” said Rep. Jimmy Patronis (FL-01) in Florida's Voice.
“The Biden-Harris administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan put U.S. servicemembers, U.S. State Department personnel, and their families in extreme danger. As a direct result of their failures, 13 U.S. servicemembers and 170 civilians were murdered in a terrorist attack at Abbey Gate on August 26th, 2021…While Democrats seek to downplay the tragic consequences of our withdrawal from Afghanistan, Republicans are working to ensure a failure at that scale never happens again and that our country is prepared for whatever comes next,” said Rep. Matt Van Epps (TN-07) in Clarksville Online.
