Gone With the Grift: RSC Praises Trump Administration for Stopping SNAP Fraud

October 23, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In Case You Missed It (ICYMI), the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud announced they identified $42 million in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fraud, an amount equivalent to feeding 220,000 American families. A new Breitbart article spotlights Republican Study Committee (RSC) Members’ praise for the Trump administration’s work to hold fraudsters accountable, save taxpayer dollars, and protect Americans who rely on these programs.

The RSC has been leading the charge in Congress against waste, fraud, and abuse, proposing a framework to codify the Trump administration’s anti-fraud victories into law. RSC Members were also among the first to sign onto Vice President JD Vance’s Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud, which commits to cracking down on the misuse of public benefits by strengthening oversight and accountability measures.

Highlights of the article are below:

“Republican Study Committee (RSC) members are highlighting the need to continue protecting taxpayer-funded food assistance programs from fraud following a nationwide federal enforcement operation that uncovered nearly $42 million in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fraud.”

“The lawmakers’ statements follow an October 21 Justice Department announcement that a nationwide enforcement operation targeted nearly $45 million in government losses, including nearly $42 million involving SNAP fraud. The crackdown, which began September 1 and involved 13 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Utah Attorney General’s Office, resulted in enforcement actions against more than 40 defendants. According to the DOJ, the SNAP funds involved could have provided food assistance to approximately 220,000 Americans for the month of October, based on fiscal year 2026 USDA data.”
