Made in the USA, Again: Republicans Power America’s Manufacturing Comeback

October 2, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In 2026 alone, American manufacturers have added nearly 60,000 jobs, a gain Republicans secured by cutting taxes, slashing regulations, and making it easier for businesses to build in America again. This milestone comes as the country marks National Manufacturing Day, a fitting moment to recognize the strength, ingenuity, and determination of America’s workforce and industrial base. Water-powered mills and steam-driven factories helped secure our nation’s independence, and the advanced production lines operating today carry that legacy forward as a cornerstone of American prosperity.

President Trump and Republicans are putting American workers first by bringing production home and ending our dependence on foreign adversaries for the products our economy and national security rely on. The driving force behind this effort is the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, allowing businesses to build in America again by eliminating burdensome regulations, allowing businesses to fully expense investments in new machinery and factories, and establishing a more favorable environment for long-term growth. As a result, Republicans have secured billions of dollars in new investments, unleashing innovation that keeps our country competitive and creating tens of thousands of new manufacturing jobs.

Here’s what Members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) had to say about America’s enduring industrial power:

“Manufacturing isn’t just part of Michigan’s history — it’s the backbone of our economy and the foundation of America’s strength. President Trump and House Republicans are putting American workers first, bringing investment and production back home, and making sure the next generation of cars, steel, technology, and innovation is built right here in the United States. On National Manufacturing Day, we celebrate the men and women who make things in America — and we recommit ourselves to making America the manufacturing powerhouse of the world,” said Rep. Lisa McClain (MI-09), Chairwoman of the House Republican Conference.

“Manufacturing remains a cornerstone of our economy and a source of opportunity for communities across the country, including in my district, TX-25. As Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, I have seen firsthand how manufacturers and small businesses are investing in their communities. On National Manufacturing Day, we recognize the countless small businesses and manufacturers that continue the proud tradition of American-made products,” said Rep. Roger Williams (TX-25), Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business.

“Ohio has long been a manufacturing powerhouse, and under Republican leadership, we’re seeing American manufacturing come roaring back. From workers on the factory floor to entrepreneurs investing in our communities, Americans are proving we can build it here and compete on the world stage. Today, we celebrate the people driving that comeback and defining what it means to be ‘Made in America,’” said RSC’s HEAT Task Force Chair Rep. Troy Balderson (OH-12).

“American manufacturing is roaring back, and Iowa is leading the way. Earlier this week, we announced that the largest steel plant project in American history is bringing $15 billion in investment and more than 1,700 good-paying jobs to our state. On National Manufacturing Day, I’m proud we’ve also secured nearly $5 million to expand skilled trades training across Iowa — preparing Iowans to fill the jobs we’re bringing home and strengthening America’s industrial base,” said RSC’s National Security Task Force Chair Zach Nunn (IA-03).

“We reformed tax policies through the Working Families Tax Cuts and slashed burdensome regulations to drive more American-made products, built by American workers. The manufacturing boom is accelerating, and we're seeing the renaissance right here in North Texas, with billions of investments in semiconductors and advanced manufacturing. On National Manufacturing Day, we recognize the manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and workers across North Texas who keep our communities and our country growing,” said RSC's Budget and Spending Task Force Chair Beth Van Duyne (TX-24).

“On National Manufacturing Day, it’s important that we take the time to honor and recognize the millions of Americans who work in manufacturing and build vital products and components here in the United States. Our country is a manufacturing powerhouse, and in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District, I’m proud that we are home to more than 1,000 manufacturing businesses that employ more than 86,000 hardworking Ohioans. I visit these facilities all the time, and it’s amazing to see the production going on at each facility. From programming to robotic machinery, our highly skilled manufacturing professionals are building America’s future, and I’m grateful for their devotion to innovation. Thanks to new investments, comprehensive workforce development programs, and a focus on strengthening domestic supply chains, we’re seeing an increase in American manufacturing activity across the country. As Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce, I will continue to champion policies that provide affordable, reliable energy to support small and large manufacturers in Northern Ohio and across our country,” said Rep. Bob Latta, Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce.

“On National Manufacturing Day, we recognize the workers and businesses that keep Montana’s economy moving. The Working Families Tax Cuts protected 20,000 manufacturing jobs in Montana, along with $2 billion in wages and $4 billion in economic output. I’ll continue fighting to strengthen American manufacturing and keep good-paying jobs here at home,” said Rep. Troy Downing (MT-02).

“Manufacturing built the middle class in communities like Dayton, and it remains essential to America’s economic strength and national security. My father spent more than 40 years working in manufacturing, so I know firsthand what these jobs mean to working families and their communities. That is why I continue to fight for and support measures that strengthen our defense industrial base and bring critical supply chains and advanced manufacturing back to the United States. We are working to ensure that the next generation of American innovation is not only invented here but built here,” said Rep. Mike Turner (OH-10).

“The Buckeye State has long been a manufacturing powerhouse thanks to the hardworking men and women who keep our nation’s industries moving forward. With nearly 700,000 manufacturing jobs ranging from steel, to cars, to advanced technologies, Ohio is making the things our nation depends on. On National Manufacturing Day, we celebrate the many skilled workers, innovators, and manufacturers who are strengthening our economy and keeping America a manufacturing leader!” said Rep. Dave Taylor (OH-02).

“Manufacturing is the backbone of a strong American economy, and we need to make it easier—not harder—for businesses to invest, grow, and create good-paying jobs right here at home. I’m proud to support commonsense policies that strengthen our domestic manufacturing base, expand opportunity for working families, and ensure North State communities can continue to build and create great products,” said Rep. James Gallagher (CA-01).

“Ohio’s billion-dollar manufacturing industry is a cornerstone of our state’s economy and a driving force behind good-paying jobs. On National Manufacturing Day, we celebrate the hardworking Northeast Ohioans whose innovation drives industries that are essential to our communities and our economy. As Co-Chair of the House Manufacturing Caucus, I’ll continue working to ensure Ohio’s manufacturers and workers have a strong voice in Congress and the support they need to grow and compete,” said Rep. Dave Joyce (OH-14).

“Bringing manufacturing jobs back home continues to strengthen an industry that already employs nearly one million Texans. By slashing burdensome Biden-era regulations and unleashing American energy production, my Republican colleagues and I are making it easier to build, invest, and create jobs right here in the United States. I am extremely grateful for the hardworking Texans powering this manufacturing comeback and I’ll keep fighting to put American workers first,” said Rep. Craig Goldman (TX-12).

“Having run manufacturing businesses, I know the skill and dedication of American workers. National Manufacturing Day recognizes the hardworking men and women who make quality products used around the world. Supporting their success requires policies that reward investment, innovation, and hiring in the United States. I’m working with President Trump to make America the best place to build and hire, bringing jobs and supply chains home to strengthen our economy and national security,” said Rep. Warren Davidson (OH-08).

“Manufacturing has been the backbone of this nation’s economy for generations, producing American-made goods that support our everyday lives and creating reliable, good-paying jobs for our communities. My colleagues and I work tirelessly to promote the America First trade and manufacturing agenda happening across the country. I’m proud to represent southern Minnesota and the quality manufacturers in our backyard,” said Rep. Brad Finstad (MN-01).

“Manufacturers are the backbone of America, and nowhere is that truer than Ohio's Sixth District. On National Manufacturing Day, I thank every worker, plant manager, and small business owner who makes things here at home. Republicans are bringing manufacturing back, and I will keep fighting for the people who build this country,” said Rep. Michael Rulli (OH-06).

“National Manufacturing Day is an opportunity to recognize the hardworking men and women who keep our nation moving. Under Republican leadership, we are cutting red tape, strengthening American industry, and bringing jobs and production back home. America is making things again, and our workers are leading the way,” said Rep. Max Miller (OH-07).
