President Trump Gives Biden Regulations the Cold Shoulder
WASHINGTON D.C. – President Donald Trump officially repealed the Biden administration's burdensome energy conservation standards for commercial refrigerators and freezers today, signing H.J. Res 75 into law. The bill, led by Republican Study Committee (RSC) member Rep. Craig Goldman (TX-12), eliminates regulations that would have imposed an $8 billion burden on manufacturers, small businesses, and ultimately consumers.
This victory represents a significant step in rolling back expensive Biden-era green energy mandates that drive up costs for everyday Americans.
“Republican Study Committee Members are working hard to dismantle the burdensome Biden-era mandates that have paralyzed businesses across the country and increased costs for consumers," said Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11). "I applaud Rep. Goldman for leading the effort to repeal the Biden administration’s costly and misguided ‘commercial refrigeration equipment’ rule and congratulate him on becoming the first Republican freshman to have legislation signed into law by President Trump.”
“I’m glad to see President Trump sign this bill into law and proud to congratulate Rep. Craig Goldman for leading the charge," said Vice-Chair Ben Cline (VA-06). "The Biden administration’s radical green agenda went too far—trying to regulate everyday appliances like refrigerators and freezers. This law restores common sense and puts a stop to that federal overreach.”
“House Republicans are united in reversing President Biden's war on consumers. Instead of wasting time and tax dollars targeting the appliances in our homes and businesses, the Trump Administration is focused on fostering prosperity for all Americans. I’d like to thank Rep. Goldman for leading this effort to rein in federal regulations and lower costs for families," said HEAT Task Force Chair Rep. Troy Balderson (OH-12).
"I'm glad to see President Trump sign this bill into law, finally putting an end to the ridiculous green regulations that have hurt hardworking American families. These bureaucratic overreaches targeted everyday appliances like refrigerators and freezers — and today, that nonsense stops," said HEAT Task Force Vice-Chair Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14). |
