July 28, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Sheri Biggs (SC-03) joined SiriusXM Patriot’s The David Webb Show, drawing on her experience in the Air National Guard on the importance of passing the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027. Rep. Biggs highlighted how the bill strengthens military readiness, supports servicemembers’ well-being, secures critical supply chains, and bolsters America’s defense industrial base at a moment when threats abroad make the investment more urgent than ever.

Rep. Biggs also discussed the clean Continuing Resolution the House passed to prevent another Democrat-manufactured government shutdown, along with the SAVE America Act to enhance election security and ensure only American citizens vote in our elections.

Read highlights from Rep. Biggs’s interview below.

Biggs on NDAA:

“The NDAA is something that I think is very important, and we should talk to our constituents more about the importance…Especially in light of what's going on in Iran right now. It strengthens our national security. And as we all know, the open borders wreaked havoc on our country, and the previous administration failed us miserably and we're still dealing with that…The NDAA is going to advance President Trump's Peace through Strength agenda, and those are all priorities that I think would impact every single citizen and we realize the importance it is to our local families.”

Biggs on supporting servicemembers:

“I have spent a lifetime not only serving veterans in the healthcare realm, but I still continue to serve in South Carolina in the Air National Guard, and I'm very honored…I work with these men and women. I know what they're risking each and every day. And not only them, but how their families serve…Probably the most important thing is supporting our servicemembers' mental and spiritual readiness to make sure that they are ready and able for combat.”

Biggs on empowering American manufacturers and modernizing America’s military:

“It’s so important that we rely on U.S. manufacturers and products that we're not only utilizing ourselves, but we're selling to our allies. I think it is crucial to the success of America. Also, to counter the biotechnology threats from foreign adversaries. We've seen what China is capable of, and that needs to be a major priority for all of us.”

“I wrote [legislation] to make sure that we modernize our American fighters. We have to increase our fleet and make sure that we're giving our members what they need to complete the mission successfully.”

“One thing that we can't deny is we are not going to be able to deter China, Russia, Iran, or any other adversary with outdated equipment...We're going to have to be able to make good decisions utilizing taxpayer funding. But we have to make sure that peace is maintained through unquestioned American strength.”

Biggs on the clean Continuing Resolution:

“It will be a clean Continuing Resolution, and that it's only a temporary measure so that we can carry out our responsibilities. The bottom line is nobody wants to have the government shut down, and the Democrats have already shown that they want to obstruct anything that President Trump wants to do. And they are responsible for the longest government shutdown in history, and we can't allow that to happen again. And that's the goal of this process.”

Biggs on the SAVE America Act:

“It's a no-brainer. Every single legal vote deserves to be counted, and all Americans need to know that their vote will count and that only Americans are voting in an American election. It's straightforward. All it does is require proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections and makes sure that only American citizens are participating in our own elections.”
