Rep. Moore on Democrats’ Refusal to Support the SAVE America Act: “This is Just One More Arrow in Their Quiver of Craziness Right Now”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Tim Moore (NC-14) appeared on SiriusXM Patriot’s The Wilkow Majority to discuss the Republican Study Committee’s (RSC) letter to New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill after the state revealed they had registered 6,600 noncitizens to vote, allowing roughly 400 of those individuals to cast ballots in American elections.

During the interview, Rep. Moore pressed for swift passage of the SAVE America Act in the Senate. The bill, which House Republicans have passed four times, would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote and government-issued photo identification when casting a federal ballot. Rep. Moore also talked about how Democrats’ opposition to the bill underscores how far the party has moved from commonsense election security measures.

Moore on why he joined RSC’s letter to New Jersey Governor Sherrill
“Voter registration information is by definition a public record everywhere in the country. The fact that it was discovered that 6,600 people illegally registered to vote, non-citizens…And then, all of a sudden, they want to sweep this under the rug. So I signed on, of course, to the letter demanding that we get the full information… I hope, frankly, that the U.S. Attorney there will prosecute those who have voted illegally…It’s an example of why we need to pass the SAVE America Act.”

Moore on how radical the Democrats have become
“Well, my question would be, why are they giving a driver's license to a non-citizen in the first place?... That shows just how far out of touch the far Left is right now. I mean, look what's happened with the DSA, all these radical things that they're pushing: no borders, no military, no prisons, no jails. This is just one more arrow in their quiver of craziness right now. And if someone's here in this country illegally, they should not be getting any kind of public benefit. Period. And by the Constitution, they should not be registering to vote. There needs to be folks held accountable. And if there are folks who have been complicit in this at the state government level, I think there ought to be ramifications there as well.”

Moore on the scope of noncitizen voter registration nationwide
“As I recall, I think the 6,600 was a self-reported number that they called. They have been resistant in turning this information over to the Department of Homeland Security so that they could go through and run the traps and determine if there are more noncitizens as well…If that's what it is in New Jersey, imagine what it is in California or Illinois or New York…They’re going to shuck and jive and probably pull a Fauci and plead the Fifth as much as they can as well…I fear that the number of people who voted is probably more than the several hundred that have been thrown out there, because if you expand that universe beyond the 6,600 and then you run the numbers there, you're probably talking thousands and thousands of folks who are here illegally who voted in elections in that state.”
