Highlights from the conversation are below:
Biggs on the loss of Senator Lindsey Graham
“Senator Graham played a huge role for South Carolina, and his leadership will be missed greatly.”
Biggs on the Rise of Democratic Socialists
“People that have a strong conservative view, they're going to have to have thick skin and a backbone. And we're going to have to see this through, not just in South Carolina and districts like mine, but we're going to have to, this is going to be a nationwide issue… They see what's at risk. They see that our freedoms are just kind of hanging by a thin thread.”
Biggs on the Importance of RSC’s Letter to the WNBA
“I mean, you see just more and more acts of unnecessary physical violence, and it creates a culture…With these leftist ideas and what we consider normal, we can't just stand on the sidelines and let this type of thing happen…It's just a simple message. We just want to protect the players, enforce rules, and ensure that every athlete can compete in a safe environment. People shouldn't have to feel bullied or threatened to enjoy a sport.”
Biggs on Advancing Conservative Priorities under Republican Leadership
“We’ve had our foot on the pedal and haven't let up, I know, over the last two years. And for the very reasons that you just mentioned, making sure that we get things like the Save America Act across the line. Look at how many times the House has voted for that. And unfortunately, [the Senate is] not able to get it through… There's just so much important legislation going on right now, whether it's already been voted on, things that we're looking to vote on. I've got a bill hitting the floor this week about improving travel for active military members…It's so important that we make sure our military members are taken care of and they have what they need to accomplish the mission successfully.”
