Rep. Tim Burchett: "Who Can Vote Against Saving America?"
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican Study Committee (RSC) member Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-02) appeared on RightLine News to call on his colleagues in the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act without delay to restore election integrity across all fifty states. This must-pass legislation would require voters to prove U.S. citizenship and present a photo ID at the ballot box.
Rep. Burchett also discussed the RSC’s framework for a second reconciliation bill to lower costs and unleash the American Dream for families across the country.

Read highlights from Rep. Burchett below:
On Passing the SAVE America Act: “I'm tired of people beating on their chest and talking about how tough they are, and then they say, well, what's the use? They're going to steal it? Well, this is how you stop them from stealing it. You call your representatives, and don't worry, you can call your U.S. Congressman, but call your U.S. Senators. Because when I was talking to President Trump, he said, ‘Tim, we need to call it the SAVE AMERICA Act.’ Who can vote against saving America?”
On the RSC’s Framework for a Second Reconciliation Bill: “The big, the next reconciliation bill, they're kind of getting ahead of it, which is what they need to do, because I guarantee the tax and spend, the liberals on both sides of the aisle, they're [Democrats] going to try to load it up with garbage. I mean, they [RSC] want to codify President Trump's executive orders. I think that's a great idea. And the reason there's like, ‘Well, why don't y'all pass the laws?’ Because we don't have enough people with enough guts to do it, to be honest with you. And that's really a shame. That's a shame because I warn you about something. President Trump won overwhelmingly, across the board, and in Congress and Senate, two or three percentage points. I mean, we're down to one person, one person majority. If you have a couple of those guys that flip or don't show up on an issue, we're sunk. So, yeah, it's going to cut some wasteful government spending. These are things that are red meat that I don't think we tout enough. Yeah, eliminate marriage penalties, common sense stuff. This is stuff that Chairman Pfluger is, I'm sure he ran on, and now is the Chairman of the RSC, the Republican Study Committee. He's done a great job of it. I'm a big fan of his, as you know, healthcare freedom and drug prices, things like that. These are all common sense stuff. There you go. You got it on the screen, and they're big talking points, but those are things that, just as Americans, not even as Republicans, those are things we ought to say, man, dadgum, this is stuff we ought to be fighting for. This stuff pulls through the roof.”
