Republican Study Committee Hosts Women's Sports Champion Riley Gaines on Capitol Hill Prior to President Trump Executive Order Signing

February 5, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC — The Republican Study Committee (RSC) continues its unwavering commitment to preserving the integrity of women's sports by hosting Riley Gaines on Capitol Hill today.

Today also marks a historic day as President Trump is set to sign an Executive Order to Protect Women’s Sports at the White House, another nail in the coffin for the radical Left’s war on women through woke gender ideology:

“The radical Left wants to erase decades of female athletic achievement, but with President Trump and a Republican majority in Congress, we say: not on our watch,” said RSC Chairman August Pfluger. “As a father of three daughters, I won't stand by while gender ideology threatens their dreams. President Trump's executive order is a decisive blow to the Left's anti-woman crusade and the Republican Study Committee stands ready to codify these protections permanently. We're proud to host Riley Gaines today because she exemplifies the fighting spirit we need. Together, we're sending a clear message: we will not allow the woke agenda to steal one more trophy, one more scholarship, or one more opportunity from our female athletes."

"For the past four years, Independent Women has worked strategically to engage persuadable Americans on the harms of the Left's policies—especially how they would impact women and girls. We knew Americans believed gender ideology and the woke administrative state had gone way too far, and we sought to redirect this conversation to where our side was strongest — women's sports and spaces, parents' rights, and the real dangers of gender ideology extremism on minors. It worked. Looking ahead, we have several exciting things on the horizon, much work still to be done to defeat gender ideology once and for all, and plans to use the same successful strategies to create economic prosperity and a better, safer country. The past four years and into the next, we are committed to not only continue moving the needle with women, but to making a difference on the issues that continue moving America," said Riley Gaines, Independent Women Ambassador.

The RSC will continue to deliver wins on common-sense legislation for the American people. Promises made, promises kept!
