RSC Chairman August Pfluger Statement on President Trump's FY26 Budget

May 2, 2025

WASHINGTON D.C. – Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman August Pfluger released the following statement on President Trump's budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2026:

"President Trump isn't just changing the channel—he's rewriting the script. This budget ditches President Biden's woke waste and weaponization of government while getting America back on track. We're finally giving our military the strength and resources they deserve, securing our border with real teeth, not just talk, while responsibly reducing non-defense spending by $163 billion.

This is what fiscal sanity looks like: cutting the fat while protecting those who truly matter—our veterans, seniors, and students. The days of government-by-giveaway are over.

I want to thank OMB Director Russ Vought for his work in crafting this blueprint for common-sense spending and responsible governance. Now it's time for House Republicans to bring this home through reconciliation, appropriations, and our Set in Stone initiative. The Trump agenda is rolling, and we're not stopping until every single promise is kept—we will fulfill the commitment we made to the American people."
