RSC Hosts New Media and Messaging Member Roundtable with CEO of Florida's Voice
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican Study Committee (RSC) Messaging Task Force Chair Mark Alford (MO-04) led a members-only roundtable today with Brendon Leslie, CEO and Founder of Florida’s Voice and RightLine News, leading conservative new media outlets.
As trust in legacy media continues to crater, the RSC is doubling down on its new media strategy, bringing together members to hear directly from Leslie on how independent creators are reshaping the news landscape and reaching millions of Americans that legacy outlets can't.
Leslie, whose Florida's Voice and RightLine News outlets have become a go-to source for conservative audiences, discussed how new media has disrupted traditional news consumption by offering perspectives that resonate with audiences increasingly skeptical of mainstream outlets. He urged RSC members to lean into direct engagement with creators and independent journalists rather than relying on legacy media gatekeepers to carry their message.
The roundtable is part of a broader RSC strategy modeled after President Trump's winning 2024 playbook, which demonstrated the outsized power of podcasters, creators, and alternative media in driving the national conversation. The RSC has made new media engagement a centerpiece of its communications operation, building relationships with creators who collectively reach tens of millions of Americans.
Members in attendance at the roundtable were Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-02), Beth Van Duyne (TX-24), and Rudy Yakym (IN-02).
After the conclusion of the roundtable, RSC Messaging Task Force Chair Mark Alford said:
“Today’s Republican roundtable was a strong step toward modernizing how we communicate with the American people. I appreciate Brendon Leslie and my colleagues for an honest, forward-looking discussion on new media and broader outreach. As Chair of the Republican Study Task Force on Communications Strategy, I believe our America First message only grows if we’re willing to deliver it on the platforms Americans use every day."
Rep. Tim Burchett said:
“It is important that Republicans effectively message our wins and amplify President Trump’s agenda to ensure the American people fully understand the progress we've made and the bold direction we're headed. I am glad that Chairman Pfluger and the RSC are taking this issue seriously and leading the charge to deliver conservative victories.”
Brendon Leslie, CEO of Florida's Voice and RightLine News thanked the RSC for their efforts to bring New Media to Capitol Hill:
“The Republican Study Committee just gets it. While Washington stays stuck in its beltway bubble, the RSC is meeting Americans where they are, on the platforms they actually use, talking about the issues they actually care about. This is how it should be done across the halls of Congress. I'm grateful to Chairman August Pfluger and Rep. Mark Alford for their leadership on this and for bringing RightLine and Florida’s Voice along for the changing of the guard."
