RSC Hosts Treasury Secretary Bessent as President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts Deliver for American Families
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Republican Study Committee (RSC) welcomed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to Capitol Hill for a members-only meeting as the Trump economic boom continues to deliver for American workers and families.
The Secretary outlined the sweeping impact of President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts, the historic legislation that stopped a $1,700 tax hike on the average American family, codified no tax on tips and no tax on overtime, and delivered the tax relief seniors have long deserved. Secretary Bessent also highlighted Trump Accounts as a cornerstone of the bill's pro-family vision, ensuring every American child has a stake in the booming Trump economy from the moment they are born. The results are already coming into focus, with millions of Americans expected to receive the largest tax refunds of their lives this spring.
“As the largest conservative coalition in Congress, the RSC deserves enormous credit for the passage of President Trump’s working families’ tax cuts through the House, helping American taxpayers and Main Street businesses to secure tax code permanence,” said Secretary Scott Bessent. “Alongside trade deals and deregulation, President Trump’s pro-growth tax policy – including Trump Accounts – has set the table for success in 2025, and the American people will harvest the rewards in 2026. In particular, I enjoyed members’ strong interest in housing market issues. Republicans have already and must continue to lead on efforts to solve the most pressing challenges facing American families. Republicans in both the Senate and House have produced strong legislation, and now is the time for the Senate to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, and for the House to swiftly send it to President Trump’s desk for his signature.”
"Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has been a driving force behind the most consequential economic agenda in a generation,” said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11). “The work the Secretary has done alongside President Trump to put money back in the pockets of working families is exactly what the RSC stands for. But perhaps nothing captures the heart of this administration's vision more than Trump Accounts, giving every child born in America a stake in the greatest economy on earth from the moment they enter the world. The RSC was proud to welcome him to Capitol Hill today, and we will be his strongest ally in making sure this agenda reaches every American family in every corner of this country."
The RSC is proud to stand alongside Secretary Bessent and the Trump administration in the fight to keep more money in the pockets of working families and build an economy where every American has a real shot at the American Dream.
