RSC Member-Veterans Call Out Democrats for Insurrection Video

November 20, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C.  As brave American servicemembers were used as political pawns during the 43 long day government shutdown. Now, Democrats veterans in the House and Senate are calling on our troops and intelligence community professionals in a video to violate their oath to serve and disobey leadership.

The video builds on the Biden Administration’s politicization of the Pentagon, where they shoved DEI initiatives down every branch of the military, conducted extremism “stand-down” days, and discharged servicemembers who refused the COVID-19 vaccine.

Member-veterans of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) called out their colleagues for their egregious actions:

"The United States military is the greatest fighting force in the history of the world because of its unity of command, disciplined structure, and servicemembers' unwavering commitment to our country and the Constitution. As a combat veteran, I know our strength comes from the chain of command, accountability, and the trust between troops and civilian leadership. When elected Democrats urge servicemembers to defy orders for political reasons, they undermine that trust and weaken the core of America’s national security,” said RSC National Security Task Force Chair Zach Nunn (IA-03).

“Having served in the Marine Corps for 40 years under both Democrat and Republican administrations, I find it disgraceful for any elected official to encourage our Service Members to defy lawful orders from their Commander-in-Chief. This kind of reckless rhetoric doesn’t just undermine civilian control of the military - it erodes good order and discipline and puts our troops at unnecessary risk. America’s men and women in uniform deserve leaders who put country above politics, not politicians who try to weaponize them for partisan gain,” said Rep. Jack Bergman (MI-01).

“As a veteran, I know firsthand that the strength of our military depends on discipline and an unwavering commitment to the oath we take. Democrats urging service members to break that oath crosses a line that should never be crossed. After four years of the Biden Administration politicizing our armed forces, this latest push for defiance only further undermines the Democrats’ integrity.  Our men and women in uniform deserve leaders who put national security ahead of politics,” said Rep. Rich McCormick (GA-07).
