WASHINGTON D.C. – In yet another display of dangerously misplaced priorities, three House Democrats stormed through security gates at an ICE detention facility in Newark, bypassing established security protocols, and breaking the law in the process, to stage a political stunt. This is just another day that ends in 'y' for House Democrats in 2025.
Representatives Rob Menendez Jr., Bonnie Watson Coleman, and LaMonica McIver felt their congressional pins entitled them to break facility security rules that protect Americans from the dangerous criminals housed within — including alleged murderers, MS-13 gang members, and convicted sex offenders.
Republican Study Committee (RSC) members blasted this charade:
“New Jerseyans are working long hours just to make ends meet and pay their sky-high taxes, only to watch that hard-earned money go toward funding illegal immigration as a sanctuary state," said Rep. Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02). "Now, they’re seeing their own elected officials break the law. This is not what they signed up for, and it’s not what they deserve. No one is above the law, and when those in power act like they are, they betray the very trust of the people who put them in office.”
“I can’t blame Robert Menendez for storming a federal detainment facility. He was just looking for his dad," said Rep. Mike Collins (GA-10).
“The party of open borders just crossed the line from chaos to criminal. House Democrats stormed an ICE detention facility, putting criminal illegal aliens ahead of law and order. It’s a reckless, disgraceful stunt and a slap in the face to every American who expects their leaders to stand up for public safety. They owe the American people an explanation,” said Rep. Pat Harrigan (NC-10).
"All Democrats seem to do these days is defend people who illegally hop fences. So it’s no surprise to see them doing it in New Jersey. This behavior is disgraceful—these individuals didn’t just break the law, they violently charged at federal officers in a full-blown political tantrum. Democrats have embraced violent criminals for so long, they’re starting to become them," said Rep. Andy Ogles (TN-05).
"This is a new low and a clear sign of the desperation gripping the radical Left. To claim this politically motivated stunt was mere 'oversight' at an ICE facility insults the intelligence of the American people. The ICE agents have a job to do, and they don’t have time for grandstanding politicians chasing headlines. What we witnessed is yet another sad example of putting the interests of criminal illegal aliens over the safety and security of the American people. This look of desperation is sad, but if you want to embarrass yourselves with more PR stunts, be my guest," said Rep. Mark Harris (NC-8).
"Democrats storming of the New Jersey ICE facility today is proof that they are the party of crime," said Rep. Marlin Stutzman (IN-03). "They should want cartel members off of our streets!"
“Democrats continue to prove they care more about illegal aliens than the American people,” said Rep. Troy Nehls (TX-22). ”The members of Congress who stormed an ICE detention center make it crystal clear that the Democrat Party has no leader, no vision, and no message. It’s shameful." |
