SIGNED INTO LAW: HEAT Leaders Applaud Pfluger's CRA to Eliminate the Natural Gas Tax

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, RSC House Energy Action Team (HEAT) Chairman Rep. Troy Balderson (OH-12) and HEAT Vice-Chair Rep. Randy Weber (TX-14) released the following statement after President Trump signed RSC Chairman Pfluger's Congressional Review Act (CRA) to eliminate the natural gas tax:

“President Trump and congressional Republicans delivered on our mandate to lower energy costs and unleash American energy dominance by signing Chairman Pfluger and Sen. Hoeven’s resolution to overturn the Biden EPA’s ill-conceived natural gas tax into law. Unlike the previous administration, Republicans understand that our country is stronger and more prosperous when we produce energy here at home, and that’s exactly what this resolution will facilitate. The days of surrendering our energy security to foreign adversaries and climate activists are over. We look forward to continuing to work with President Trump to enact ‘America First’ energy policies.”

In response to his legislation being signed into law, RSC Chairman Pfluger said, “I was honored to witness President Trump sign my monumental legislation into law to deliver on the mandate to remove burdensome regulations in the energy industry and unleash American energy. This legislation repeals the tax President Biden imposed on every single consumer in this country and protects the hardworking men and women in the Permian Basin who have delivered affordable, reliable energy every day despite being assaulted by the Biden administration for four years.
