Under President Trump's Golden Dome, America Will Sleep Soundly

WASHINGTON D.C. –  President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just unveiled the revolutionary Golden Dome space-based missile defense system. This strategic masterpiece will directly counter and deter Russian and Chinese hypersonic weapons advancements, including nuclear-capable glide vehicles that pose an emerging threat to national security.

Members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC), the largest caucus on Capitol Hill, released the following statements:

"Over forty years ago, President Reagan launched the Strategic Defense Initiative to protect America from Soviet nuclear threats. Today, the danger has multiplied: China and Russia have aggressively expanded their nuclear arsenals, Iran and North Korea are racing toward nuclear capability, and shadowy non-state actors lurk at our borders. Advanced hypersonic weapons fly faster, hit harder, and can slip past our defenses," said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11). "President Trump's Golden Dome stands as America's ultimate shield. This innovation brings Reagan's vision into the 21st century, meeting today's deadlier threats head-on. With enemies at the gate and our future at stake, America stands united behind President Trump's unshakeable commitment to defend our homeland."

"The Golden Dome missile defense plan is a bold step toward strengthening our national defense and ensuring the safety of the American people. At a time when threats from adversaries like China and Iran continue to grow, we must invest in the technologies necessary to defend our homeland and ensure peace through strength," said RSC Vice-Chair Ben Cline (VA-06).

"The Golden Dome represents a serious step toward strengthening our homeland defenses and staying ahead of adversaries like China and Russia. As a Colonel in the Air Force who flew combat missions, I’m encouraged to see renewed focus on layered missile defense and look forward to working with the Trump administration to ensure this effort delivers real capability inside our national defense system," said RSC National Security Task Force Chair Rep. "Our adversaries’ missile capabilities have increased drastically in the past decade, particularly when it comes to hypersonics and the space domain,” said Rep. Pat Fallon (TX-04). “The Trump Administration recognizes that the current status quo is not only unsustainable in the long term but also presents a dire threat to US national security. The Golden Dome missile defense plan will help ensure the US closes the gap by relying on the strength of America’s free market system and dynamic private industry.
