WATCH: “Every Single Democrat Voted Against American Families.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Republican Study Committee (RSC) released a new videonoting that every Democrat in Congress voted against the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, the law that prevented a $4.5 trillion tax hike on households and businesses.
The legislation, passed by Republican majorities in Congress and signed into law by President Trump, delivered tax relief for tipped workers, hourly employees, seniors, and small businesses, ensuring Americans get to keep more of what they earn. The Working Families Tax Cuts Act also locked in key Trump Administration border security measures to provide long-term security for communities across the country.
For families, the Working Families Tax Cuts Act expanded both the Child Tax Credit and the Adoption Tax Credit, and it strengthened incentives for employers that offer paid family leave and childcare to new parents. It also encouraged fresh investment in domestic manufacturing, with the aim of bringing jobs back to American communities.
Among its most forward-looking provisions, the law established Trump Accounts, through which the U.S. Treasury will deposit $1,000 for every American child born between 2025 and 2028. The accounts are intended to give the next generation a financial head start and a direct stake in the country's economic future.
