December 11, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Today, the Republican Study Committee (RSC) released a videodetailing the More Affordable Care Act's solution to Obamacare's 15-year track record of broken promises. The video features RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11), Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04), Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04), and Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (ND-AL) who break down the key reforms that put patients back in control of their health care.

Background: RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11) introduced the House companion to Senator Rick Scott's (R-FL) More Affordable Care Act that takes a commonsense approach: give individuals control over their health care dollars.

Instead of funneling billions of taxpayer dollars to large insurance companies, this bill creates Trump Health Freedom Accounts, where federal subsidies are deposited straight into accounts that individuals manage. Families can use these funds to pay premiums or other health care expenses, while also having the flexibility to shop across state lines, compare multiple plans, and choose coverage that truly meets their needs. This approach empowers Americans to make informed choices, encourages competition among insurance providers, and promotes smarter, more cost-effective health care decisions that reflect the realities of everyday American life.

The legislation also requires hospitals to post actual prices and mandates public outcomes data so families can compare costs and quality before choosing care.
