WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today marks one year since President Trump signed the Rescissions Act of 2025 into law, clawing back $9 billion in wasteful spending and delivering on a key promise to taxpayers. In a new video released by the Republican Study Committee (RSC), Rescissions Working Group Chairman Riley Moore (WV-02) reflects on that victory and lays down a marker for the fight ahead: rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse across the federal government.

“One year ago today, President Trump signed the 2025 rescissions package into law, delivering on his promise to rein in Washington's wasteful spending. As chairman of the RSC's rescissions task force, I was proud to lead that fight in Congress. We clawed back $9 billion from programs promoting radical left-wing agendas and refocused that funding on American priorities. In the process, we proved that Congress can be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars. Now it's time to build on that success. Our system is riddled with waste, fraud, and abuse. Let's hunt these wasted dollars down wherever they exist and keep fighting to ensure that every taxpayer dollar is putting America first.”
