WATCH: Sen. Slotkin's Own Words Torch Her Case Against the SAVE America Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican Study Committee (RSC) Members Rep. Brandon Gill (TX-26) Rep. Mark Alford (MO-04), Rep. Brad Knott (NC-13), and Rep. Mary Miller (IL-15) are firing back at Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) after she claimed the SAVE America Act would let the Trump administration "rig our democracy" and make it hard for "any Democrat in any state to win any election," while falsely asserting the bill would disenfranchise married women by requiring a birth certificate at the polls.
The RSC released a video today featuring the four members responding directly to Slotkin's comments, arguing her real objection to the SAVE America Act has nothing to do with married women and everything to do with keeping the door open for noncitizens to vote.
RSC members are clear that this bill simply requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, a policy they say has broad public support, and they flatly reject Slotkin's characterization of the bill as an attack on any group of voters.

Senator Slotkin: The other thing that we blocked yesterday was the Save America Act, right, which was to literally allow this administration to rig our democracy so that it would be hard for any Democrat in any state to win any election and disenfranchise all married women in the meantime. By the way, you just have to show your birth certificate at the polls if you have a married name.
Alford: That is a flat out lie.
Knott: She's saying the quiet part out loud.
Gill: It's rich whenever Democrats say the quiet part out loud and admit openly that they believe that not allowing illegal aliens to vote in our elections constitutes Republicans rigging elections against them.
Miller: Their ideas are so crazy and unpopular that they need to cheat and get illegal votes.
Knott: It's outrageous.
Alford: We all know the truth, Senator Slotkin. The Save America Act is about saving America by saving election integrity.
Gill: That's why 80 percent plus of the American people are on Republican side and want to get the Save America Act passed.
Knott: The Save America Act is common sense. American citizens only should vote in American elections.
Miller: The outrage that they have over the Save America Act tells you everything you need to know, the American people support voter ID and proof of citizenship. It's common sense.
Knott: That's why Republicans are unified in trying to get this across the finish line and become law.
Alford: That's how desperate the communist, crazy Democrats are right now. They have no vision, no leader, no message. This is all they got.
