WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: RSC Leadership Praises President Trump's Historic First-Year
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump addressed the nation Wednesday night to highlight the historic accomplishments of his first eleven months back in office. After four years of Democrat policies that weakened our economy and national security, the Trump Administration is restoring American strength and prosperity.
Members of the Republican Study Committee’s (RSC) leadership applauded President Trump’s leadership in advancing conservative policies and wins for hardworking families:
"President Trump delivered a powerful message yesterday evening: America is back, and we're not apologizing for it. After four years of Biden crushing working families with inflation and projecting weakness abroad, President Trump is restoring American strength at home and around the world. He, along with Republicans in Congress, is delivering historic tax cuts that put real money back in working families' pockets. He's rebuilding peace through strength so America leads from a position of power, not weakness. And he's honoring our servicemembers with the $1,776 'Warrior Dividend' they've earned and deserve. This is what happens when America leads with strength. Working families win. WE THE PEOPLE win,” said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11).
“Last night, President Trump delivered a strong and positive address to the nation, reflecting on a remarkable first 11 months in office. From revitalizing our economy and securing our borders to restoring American leadership at home and abroad, the President has delivered real results for hardworking families," said RSC Vice-Chair Ben Cline. "The President made it clear that this is just the beginning. There is more work ahead, and the best days for our country are still to come as we continue building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America," said RSC Vice-Chair Ben Cline (VA-06).
“In one year, President Trump and House Republicans have delivered lower gas prices, a secure border, and historic tax relief for working families,” said Congressman Alford. “It was great to hear the President highlight our shared accomplishments and present an optimistic vision for the year ahead in his Address to the Nation last night. With common sense conservative leadership, it's clear America’s best days lie ahead,” said RSC Messaging Task Force Chair Mark Alford (MO-04).
"Following the destructive years of the Biden Administration that inflicted brutally high inflation, over 9%, and mass illegal immigration of 20 million or more on the American people, President Trump along with House Republicans have begun to deliver America First growth and opportunity with lower inflation, higher wages, and expanding job opportunities for American workers. In North Texas alone, more than 35,000 people showed up for our North Texas Job Fair this year to apply for better careers with over 500 companies who were looking to fill 33,000+ jobs - this is truly the start of the growth we need to strengthen our families and expand a stable, prosperous middle class. Our America First solutions have brought down the costs of gasoline to an average of $2.50 in North Texas, expanded wages for our families, lowered apartment rental costs, and brought in trillions of dollars of business investment that will further expand job opportunities for American workers," said RSC Budget and Spending Task Force Chair Beth Van Duyne (TX-24).
"The President is right—energy costs are still the biggest drag on family budgets and small business growth. As the Working Families Tax Cut takes effect next year, we need to match it with a more reliable grid, faster permitting, and above all, more homegrown energy from places like Iowa. I’ll keep working with my RSC colleagues to deliver an all-of-the-above, made-in-America energy strategy that lowers costs and powers economic growth,” said RSC National Security Task Force Chair Zach Nunn (IA-03).
“With President Trump back in the White House, Republicans are delivering on our promise to restore American energy leadership. We are investing in affordable, abundant domestic energy, strengthening grid reliability, and ensuring we have the power we need to grow and compete. This is what American energy dominance looks like,” said RSC HEAT Chair Troy Balderson (OH-12).
“In just 11 months, President Trump has reminded folks what real leadership looks like. Along the Gulf Coast, millions of dollars are being invested in our ports, infrastructure that moves American energy, fuels our military, and supports thousands of Texas jobs,” said RSC HEAT Vice-Chair Randy Weber (TX-14). “In Texas’ 14th District alone, we’re home to seven ports, multiple LNG facilities, and expanding Arctic readiness capabilities, while border states are finally being reimbursed for costs Washington ignored for years. That’s what happens when you put America first, and we’re just getting started.”
