WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: RSC Members Continue Joining Vice President Vance’s Pledge to Fight Against Fraud

October 20, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican Study Committee (RSC) Members were among the first to sign onto Vice President JD Vance’s Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud, which commits to protecting vulnerable Americans and taxpayers from exploitation and abuse, and more RSC Members are taking the pledge.

The commitment emphasizes stronger oversight and enforcement, such as detecting fraud before payments are issued, holding perpetrators accountable, and deporting illegal alien fraudsters who steal from taxpayer-funded programs.

The RSC has been at the forefront of the fight against waste, fraud, and abuse in federal programs, proposing a framework to codify the Trump administration’s anti-fraud victories into law and deliver accountability for American taxpayers.

Here’s what RSC Members are saying:

“Easy yes from me! Proud to sign Vice President Vance’s pledge to fight fraud. The White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud and House Republicans have been laser-focused on ensuring American taxpayer dollars are not stolen by scammers. I’ve been leading this effort on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce by introducing the Strategic Task Force on Scam Prevention Act, which passed Committee and will soon head to the House floor. Protecting Americans and their hard-earned dollars from scams and fraud is a priority I’ll keep fighting for,” said Rep. Erin Houchin (IN-09).

“Proud to join Vice President JD Vance in pledging to crack down on fraud, protect vulnerable Americans, and ensure taxpayer dollars go to those who truly need them. Every dollar stolen by fraudsters is a dollar taken from the American people. It's time for accountability!” said Rep. Buddy Carter (GA-01).

“Today, I’m taking Vice President Vance’s pledge to protect Americans from fraud. I’ll continue working with my House Republican colleagues and the Trump administration to ensure that our nation’s benefit programs only serve law-abiding Americans, not fraudsters,” said Rep. Ron Estes (KS-04).

“I'm proud to take Vice President Vance’s pledge and stand alongside President Trump and Vice President Vance in the fight against fraud! Taxpayer-funded programs are meant to help Americans in need, NOT line the pockets of criminals. Hardworking American taxpayers deserve accountability and the free ride for fraudsters ends NOW! Thanks to Vice President Vance and the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud for the critical work you're leading,” said Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12).

“Proud to stand with Vice President Vance in the fight to protect Americans from fraud. Hardworking taxpayers fund these programs for those who truly need them, and it’s on us to make sure that money isn’t stolen by fraudsters. Here in East Texas, we’re backing this pledge and doing everything in our power to protect taxpayer dollars and the vulnerable Americans these programs were built to serve,” said Rep. Nathaniel Moran (TX-01).

“Today, I’m proud to sign Vice President Vance’s Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud. The days of stealing from American taxpayers without consequences are over. It’s time to hold fraudsters accountable,” said Rep. Addison McDowell (NC-06).

“Every dollar lost to fraud is stolen from taxpayers. I’m proud to take the Vice President’s pledge and work alongside the Trump Administration’s fight to root out fraud and protect American taxpayers,” said Rep. James Comer (KY-01), Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight.

“I will always stand with Vice President Vance and President Trump in their commitment to uproot waste, fraud and abuse. I was proud to sign the Vice President’s Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud to safeguard Americans’ tax dollars from being exploited and abused by fraudsters and illegal aliens,” said Rep. Russell Fry (SC-07).

“Under President Trump, Republicans have been working to expose fraud across our nation. I am honored to sign Vice President JD Vance’s Anti-Fraud Pledge,” said Rep. Michael Guest (MS-03).

“I strongly support the Vice-President's pledge,” said Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-05).
