Chairman Walker Announces Congressman McClintock as Chairman of Budget and Spending Task Force
WASHINGTON – Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman Mark Walker (NC-6) announced that Representative Tom McClintock (CA-4) will lead the RSC's Budget and Spending Task Force for the 115th Congress.
"For the last eight years, the American people have witnessed the fiscal irresponsibility of the Obama White House – out-of-control spending, increased taxes, budget deficits and the national debt nearly doubling," said Chairman Walker. "The charge we have to restore fiscal responsibility to Washington is great, which is why I asked Tom McClintock to chair the RSC's Budget and Spending Task Force. With Tom's leadership and keen understanding of the daunting task ahead of us, the RSC will promote conservative reforms to put America's fiscal house in order and produce a balanced budget alternative."
"I am honored to serve as the RSC's Budget and Spending Task Force Chair, and I thank Chairman Walker for the opportunity," said Rep. McClintock. "I look forward to working with members of the Republican Study Committee to provide a platform for bold fiscal reforms needed to avert a sovereign debt crisis and set our nation's finances on a credible trajectory toward balance."
The purpose of the Republican Study Committee's Budget and Spending Task Force is to promote conservative fiscal policies, including by producing the RSC's budget proposal. The RSC's budget alternative is the premier policy product that the RSC produces each year.
