Honoring Our Promises on Obamacare, Fiscal Responsibility
January 13, 2017
WASHINGTON – Following passage of S. Con. Res. 3, Republican Study Committee Chairman Mark Walker (R-N.C.) released the following statement:
"The fiscal year 2017 budget resolution is the first step of many in keeping our promise to the American people that we will repeal Obamacare and fix our health care system. While we begin to honor that pledge today, we must remain equally steadfast in our commitment to return fiscal sanity to Washington. This resolution does nothing to control runaway spending, address long-term challenges and avert the pending fiscal crisis. The levels of spending, deficits and debt allowed under the budget are neither sustainable nor acceptable. Mindful of our promise to the American people that we will restore fiscal responsibility, conservatives will work diligently to ensure passage of a balanced budget for fiscal year 2018."
