WASHINGTON – Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman Mark Walker (R-N.C.) released the following statement after meeting with President Trump to discuss repealing and replacing Obamacare:

"We appreciate the opportunity to discuss with the president the best ways forward to repeal and replace Obamacare. For over six weeks, we've been working with the White House, House leadership, congressional committees and members of the Republican Study Committee to address conservative concerns and make the bill better for the American people," RSC Chairman Mark Walker said.

"President Trump's budget begins the process of undoing the reckless fiscal policies of the previous administration," said RSC Chairman Mark Walker. WASHINGTON – The Republican Study Committee (RSC) unanimously adopted official positions today in support of amendments before the Energy and Commerce Committee as it continues its markup of the American Health Care Act.

First, the RSC officially supports amendments offered by Reps. Joe Barton (R-Texas) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) to freeze new enrollment in Obamacare's Medicaid expansion at the enhanced federal medical percentage at the end of calendar 2017.

Second, the RSC officially supports an amendment offered by Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) to institute work requirements for able-bodied, childless adults on Medicaid.

WASHINGTON – Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman Mark Walker (R-N.C.) released the following statement in response to the leaked draft of a Republican plan to replace Obamacare:

"There are serious problems with what appears to be our current path to repeal and replace Obamacare. The draft legislation, which was leaked last week, risks continuing major Obamacare entitlement expansions and delays any reforms. It kicks the can down the road in the hope that a future Congress will have the political will and fiscal discipline to reduce spending that this Congress apparently lacks. Worse still," said RSC Chairman Mark Walker, "the bill contains what increasingly appears to be a new health insurance entitlement with a Republican stamp on it.
