Washington – Republican Study Committee Chairman Mark Walker released the following statement on the recently announced Budget Deal: "Our military suffered tremendously under the Obama era of defense cuts and reductions. Every Republican in the Republican Study Committee supports a strong defense. However, Republicans are being offered a false choice today: either support the military or maintain fiscal discipline. I am disappointed this deal creates friction among Republicans who believe in both. We are committed to defend our families with more tanks and planes but we must also protect future generations by freeing them from an insurmountable debt crippling any hope of pursuing the American dream."

The Steering Committee of the Republican Study Committee released the following statement on the Securing America's Future Act (H.R. 4760):

Washington - Chairman Mark Walker released the following statement greeting the 45th Annual March for Life:

"The March for Life is a bittersweet event. On one hand, it commemorates a great atrocity on America's conscience: abortion. On other hand, it is uplifting to see so many young people come out year after year in the bitter cold to fight for the rights of unborn children. On this 45th anniversary of the March for Life, the pro-life community should also be praised for their work the other 364 days of the year in helping all mothers and children."
