WASHINGTON, DC – Republican Study Committee Chairman Kevin Hern (OK-01) and RSC Budget and Spending Task Force Chairman Ben Cline (VA-06) led a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen calling for the Treasury Department to reverse course on a recent rule change allowing for state and local governments to “obligate” funding from the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act past its statutory deadline of December 31, 2024.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Republican Study Committee Chairman Kevin Hern (OK-01) and Rep. August Pfluger (TX-11), celebrated the passage of Rep. Pfluger’s Amendment to H.R. 5961, the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act. The amendment passed with a vote of 231-198, and the bill passed with a vote of 307-119.

WASHINGTON, DC – Republican Study Committee Executive Director Jay Fields is joining Speaker Mike Johnson’s office as Deputy Policy Director. Fields was tapped to serve as RSC’s Executive Director at the end of 2022 when Rep. Kevin Hern (OK-01) became Chairman. Previously, Fields served as RSC’s Policy Director under Chairmen Jim Banks and Mike Johnson, and as a Professional Policy Staffer under Chairman Mark Walker.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican Study Committee Chairman Kevin Hern (OK-01) joined Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08), RSC’s HEAT Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11), and Congresswoman Mary Sattler Peltola (AK-AL) to introduce the bipartisan Alaska’s Right to Produce Act of 2023. This legislation will reverse the Biden Department of the Interior (DOI)’s decision to prohibit oil and gas development on 13 million acres within the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A). It will also reinstate the lawfully awarded leases that the Biden DOI cancelled within the non-wilderness Coastal Plain of the Artic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

This bill would codify the Trump administration’s successful maximum pressure campaign on Iran into law.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Republican Study Committee Chairman Kevin Hern (OK-01) and Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) introduced legislation to block Iran, the largest state-sponsor of terror, from accessing the $6 billion in funds that the Biden Administration unfroze on September 11, 2023. The bill is supported by the Republican Study Committee and co-led by Representative Joe Wilson (SC-02) and Rep. Mike Gallagher (WI-08) along with 103 other co-sponsors.
